This is Episode 100. How did THAT happen?

Across two years, Wynne and I have interviewed dozens of guests and have giggled more than I ever thought possible. Listening, learning, sharing…the Heart of the Matter. With you.

In this milestone episode, we took a little time to be reflective. Looking at where we’ve been, where we’d like to go next and the lessons we’ve learned along the way.

What we both feel most fervently?

Gratitude.

For the opportunity to learn from each other and from those who’ve trusted us as guests and listeners.

I returned to our very first episode, aptly titled, “Why Are We Here?”, which dropped on January 20, 2023, and smiled as I listened.

The lessons we’ve learned about the ‘how to’s’ are numerous – including the many a-ha’s Wynne’s experienced as she’s developed mad skills in sound editing and podcast production. Me? I’ve learned I still need to work on hushing up and watching my inadvertent audibles. Nothing new…just me being me…but my self-awareness has grown.

Along the way, the most important bits have remained constant. Our focus on storytellers, heart songs, vulnerability and friendship. Across the miles and soundwaves. Connecting – just as we intended.

  17. Way to go, ladies. I never saw your first episode. That would be fun to see. Okay, Wolfman Jack, can I make a request? Please play the first podcast for one of your Two for Tuesday segments. You hit on a key ingredient—vulnerability. It’s what makes us human and able to identify with each other. Who doesn’t feel vulnerable about something?

    I laughed out loud about the comma story. Hilarious!

  19. Congrats Wynne and Vicki on this amazing milestone! It feels like yesterday that the HOTM blog started and your podcast started. How is it 100 episodes already?!

    I loved your reflection episode and I almost want to hear an episode with all the things that didn’t make it on air! 😆

    I enjoy all your conversations, whether it’s about the creative process, family, or the things that seem obscure and super specific, like making soup, that you find a way to make interesting.

    I wish you both all the success with the next 100 and the one after that. I hope you achieve all your wishes and goals, including nabbing those bigger profile guests.

    Maybe for your next milestone episode, if circumstances allow, it should be one with you two meeting up in person!
