We’ve been having fun making some YouTube shorts from our fabulous podcast guests. So, we’re republishing some of our best clips.
In this first short clip, retired teacher, blogger, and dear friend Pete Springer tell us a great story about a volunteer job. He succumbed to a fit of laughter while reading the newspaper on the radio to serve the sight impaired. Join us for a good belly laugh.
For the full episode see Episode 79: Sometimes You Just Have to Laugh with Pete Springer
Our second short comes from delightful author and blogger Cheryl Oreglia. She leaves us with goosebumps as she describes the start of the day when riding a tandem bike. It’s a moment of the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa you won’t soon forget!
For the full episode, see: Episode 86: Tandem Riding with Cheryl Oreglia

What fun to revisit old clips that I’ve definitely missed. It’s a great idea. I loved how you were all laughing with Pete reading the funny story on the radio, and listening to Cheryl’s description of Iowa at dawn with the fog in the cornfields, rolling hills. She captured it so well. Thanks Vicki and Wynne for pulling some clips from the vault. 😊

The thing that jumps out for me about Cheryl is how she describes herself as being introverted. This clip would make one question that assessment. She is always personable, funny, and well-spoken with her nuggets of gold.
I’m working on a book of humorous tales from my life and realized I haven’t included the story of the Blue Lake crime scene. This clip reminded me I need to ensure that one gets put down on paper.
