When Vicki and I were talking with Brenda on this podcast about the title of her blog, Curiosities, Castles and Coffee Shops, we landed on another “c” word that is so fitting for Brenda – community. From the way she’s built up community on her own blog, suggested ideas to support new bloggers with a post on the Wise & Shine blog, and participated actively in so many other people’s blogs, Brenda shows us the way to create community.
So it was a joy and pleasure to talk to her about how she does it. To find out that she started blogging as a way to hold herself, as someone who has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, accountable and to balance her work and life. Brenda applies all that she’s learned from gaming to this WordPress community and the experience and vigor shows. And an additional bonus – we get to hear Brenda’s delightful Scottish accent!
In this episode, we talk about Brenda’s inspiration for writing, traveling, and how blogging has brought balance to her work and life. Brenda tells us the inspiration for the name of her blog, Curiosities, Castles and Coffee Shops and we also discover how Brenda’ s delightful and inspiring knack for growth led her through her journey from legal secretary, back to school, on as an HR lecturer and now to blogging. We explore how writing fuels a cycle of creativity in Brenda’s life where it is both the result of her explorations and also extends her journeys as she looks for interesting things to write about.
We know you will love this episode from a great blogger that shows how writing makes life richer.

Maybe, but as you said elsewhere, talking and bouncing ideas can be more effective than solo writing. Thank you, my friends ❤️ 💐
