Are you ready for a fun ride?
Buckle up! Because in this week’s episode, we bring you Wynne’s dear family friend, Eric Knudson, showcasing not one…but TWO terrific stories about hijinks on a public bus.
Eric’s stories have it all…pets, peculiar people, heartfelt interactions and some curiosities. The type that are most uniquely found when we keep our eyes open and enjoy the slices of humanity right before our eyes.
Wynne’s father, Dick Leon might’ve been riding along with Eric, in a cosmic way. Eric talks about Wynne’s remarkable father who had a knack for pulling people together wherever he went. Eric won’t say so, but he seems to channel some of those same skills, giving off the vibe that he’s approachable – a safe person to hang out with. Even on a brief bus ride.
I’d like to say more…or give you a preview of how riding the bus with two dogs, a cat, some grape soda and piping hot lasagna manifest in Eric’s stories but that just wouldn’t be fair.
You’ll need to listen for yourself and smile…
Just as Wynne and I did. Stories ARE everywhere…even on the bus if we’re ready to receive. Please join us for the scenic and beautiful places we go when we share the power of story.
We know you’ll love it.

I certainly wasn’t expecting the DMZ in a comedy monologue. Thanks to Eric and the beauties who brought him on the air!

Today is my day to catch up on your podcast episodes. I loved this one because it took me back to the days when I rode the bus back and forth every day to work. Believe it or not, I had a birthday party on the bus one night when one of my “bus friends” got wind that it was my birthday and brought me a cake. I’m sure I have pictures somewhere.
Public transit is a treasure trove of stories for people watchers.

Oh, Michelle! I bet you have a million stories! A birthday party on the bus? If you’ve written about that, I’m sorry I don’t remember! That sounds fabulous…and if you DO find photos…well…you know. I’d love to see THOSE! 😜🥰😜

Ha ha. I have not written about that bus ride. It’s fascinating how listening to the stories of others triggers memories that are buried in the far corners of our minds. I will have to dig those photos out.

If Eric continues to ride the bus, he can write a book about his off-the-wall experiences and maybe throw a few subway and taxi rides in there, too. He should include the man who eats steaming hot lasagna like it’s a finger food. 🙂

I couldn’t agree with you more, Nancy! His stories would be a fantastic book. Thanks for listening! 🥰❤️🥰

Eric’s stories were great. I have a couple of friends who sound like Wynne’s father. It doesn’t matter where they are, they put out a friendly persona and engage people in conversation. I have a good friend who needs rides to her PT appointments because she is wheelchair bound. I love to tease her because I’ll step out of the office for a minute, and by the time I’m back she’s talking to other folks in the waiting room—every time! It really is a superpower. I don’t ride the bus often, but it is one of the best places to watch people.

I forgot to add that one of my blogging friends, Steve, is a school crossing guard. He did several other things in his career, and this is more because it gives him a chance to be around children. He’s got some wonderful stories.

Loved this conversation! Made me smile, chuckle and laugh. Good thing those animals didn’t engage in war nor were there tears cried over spilled grape soda!
People watching on public transit can be quite fun and it’s an art to decide whether you intervene or continue as a passive spectator!

I agree! Watching or intervening—a tough call! But boy it can be fun. Thanks, Ab! 🥰🤣🥰

Incredibly impressive impersonation of a cat “mweor,” first of all. Secondly, I’m so relieved this has a happy ending. What was that cat woman thinking? Funny how everyone on the bus is stressing out over this. Forged a silent bond. The woman who got up and moved because “that can’t end well” is hilarious. That would have been me too. So great how Wynne’s dad was brought into this story. What a guy! Wish I could’ve met him too. Super fun to see Eric again!

Thanks so much, Betsy! I’m with you…the lady who said this…’can’t end well’ cracked me up, too!
