Episode 80: Mastering Manifestation with Mark Petruska

I am not a camper. Never have been and I think I can blame my stint in 4-H and Girl Scouts. I loved ‘sleep away’ camp so long as the accommodations came in the form of cabins instead of tents (even musty, dusty creaky cabins were better). Before you ask, yes, I managed to tolerate the outhouses, too, but I never fell in line with friends who would choose to rough it in nature with nothing but a piece of canvas separating we humans from the unknown. Too many unpredictables. Starting with the neighbors. Exactly WHO is in the campsite next to you? And what sort of predatory (or stinky) wildlife might be lurking during the night? Yah. No.

But Mark Petruska? He’s making me wonder if I should reconsider. Not just because of the beautiful stories he weaves about the great outdoors but because of the triumph tale he tells in a beautiful post about staying positive, even when plans go awry – from the jump – when you’re greeted by a “Campground Full” sign upon arrival.

Mark’s determination to check, check and double check and the resulting success – finding a needle in a haystack (in the form of a vacant campsite) renews my faith, and Wynne’s, in the power of perseverance. Or manifesting. Or as Jean-Luc Picard, of Star Trek fame said in these three words: “Make it So”.

Tune in to this week’s podcast to hear all about it. You’ll learn, thanks to Mark, that you should never doubt the power of second and third looks as you keep your peepers open for possibilities.

If all of that isn’t enticing enough, listen to our reactions to a noted Stanford neuroscientist’s tips about manifesting preferred realities. Food for thought as we chat around the virtual campfire with the delightful Mark Petruska.

  1. “Make it so.” Love this beautiful tie in to such a fun podcast episode! Always such a shot of optimism to talk with Mark. The evidence is captured here – you are considering changing your opinion about camping! 🙂 ❤ ❤ ❤

  2. You’ve summarized “the heart of the matter very well, Vicki. That, and the bonus of a Picard quote. “Live long and prosper,” as Mr. Spock would say.

      1. Thank goodness you came to your senses. I was about to remind you that the ‘wine’ Shelley referred to (and of course, we’d save a glass for you) could easily morph into ‘whine’…whine, whine. You don’t want crabby Vicki at your campsite! 😜

  3. Mark gave some great examples where he used the tips for manifesting preferred realities to get what he wanted. It takes discipline to be that persistent while maintaining control of your emotions. Thanks Mark, Vicki, and Wynne. 🙂

  4. Wonderful interview. Love Mark’s persistence, especially when I can relate with how popular camping books are! And website Chatbots are a master class is passive aggressiveness. 😆 Love that he pursued his goals passionately in both instances.

You’ll have to give camping a try, Vicki. Such marvelous experiences.

  5. I like what Vicki was saying about how Mark tried every avenue with that campsite before giving up (had he needed to). It speaks to perseverance, for sure, but also, had it not worked out, at least having the knowledge that he had done everything he could before calling it. If it had been me, I would have chalked it up to, at least I truly tried, but it wasn’t meant to be.

But, of course, I’m not Mark. It seems Mark never has to say that to himself! 😛

    “Should’ve manifested a cheeseburger.” Ha! 😛
