Episode 88: Meditative Moments with Wynne and Vicki

Wynne and I love trading tips about wellness and feeling whole – in spite of the hectic nature of life.

We know we’re not alone and, in this episode, we share a few strategies that work well for us…and invite you to join us by sharing your favorite self-care techniques.

There’s no shortage of ideas and that’s part of the problem. Too many choices…but what works well for each of us? Only we know for sure and often that involves a ton of trial…and error.

My number one? Slowing down. In all the various ways that manifests, it’s the first thing I need to do when I feel out of sorts. I might be sitting still but quieting my mind is no small task. A dear professor observed that I can be a “bother to myself” more than any outside forces. Gah! Truer words never spoken.

We can’t wait to learn from you.

  1. I enjoyed this warm and receptive conversation between you both – while my son tried to steal my attention. I told him to buzz off. 😆 One day, he’ll understand and appreciate the joy of the slow!

I really like the advice of letting go of other people’s business and monkeys. I can imagine for you, Vicki, in your profession, how much you have to work hard at that. As you take on so much and there is the risk of it bleeding into your personal life and time. It’s very heavy emotional labour. So it’s good to hear you have boundaries.

I had to smile at the Bob Newhart reference. Theme songs are the best. From time to time, I would go down a rabbit hole on YouTube watching old theme songs. For me, it’s soap opera or cartoon theme songs. They don’t make them like they used to!

    1. You get me…you really get me! LOL, Ab! Thanks for all of that wonderful feedback. Much appreciated…thank you for listening and please tell T that Auntie Vicki says hello…and I apologize for stealing away papa’s attention! Cheers to fun theme songs, too. Wynne’s right – music is like time traveling, right? Sending big Saturday hugs to you! 🥰🥰🥰
