Two Again Tuesday

We’ve been having fun making YouTube clips from our fabulous podcast guests. So, we’re republishing some of our best clips.

For this first clip, I went way back to episode 4 in the podcast archive. It’s with award-winning playwright, Jack Canfora, about the magic in the theater. Jack tells a story that I found fascinating — about Lawrence Olivier and a young Maggie Smith. It starts about minute eight:

For more, see Episode 4: Why Theater Matters.

This week’s second snippet is a different kind of magic – the magic of love and acceptance. Vicki tells a great story about her dad’s huge heart:

For more see Episode 67: Love the Ones Who Are Different with Vicki and Wynne

  1. Jack Canfora has definitely expanded my minute knowledge about play acting, Lincoln, Shakespeare, and stinky wrestlers. Kudos to his father. Thanks for sharing his interview again. Vickie, I loved the story of your dad and his disabled friend, Slats. I don’t think you’re the only one building on your father’s legacy. Many people whose lives he’s touched are also likely trying to do what is right in the moment. 🙂

  2. I love both of these! jack’s words ring so true, and I’ve seen this even in my friends who are involved in community theater. the need to feel seen, connected, and responded to are so powerful and they are always aware, even as we are, when not on a stage. love the Olivier story, and it kind of makes sense. as for Vicki’s dad and Slats, this is a powerful lesson and story, you don’t always know when you are someone’s ‘one’ and how it impacts their life. beautiful

    1. Thank you, Beth! I’m with you about Jack…I could listen to him all day. Love his perspective and insights. And your kindness about the story about my dad and Slats…thank you so much. Your observation about never knowing when we might the ONE for someone is such a perfect way to go about our days. Big hugs to you! 🥰
